A small step for a man - a great leap for exoskeletons

An article by the PR Newswire featuring the case of a surgeon in the US caught our attention. The surgeon, who suffered a spinal cord injury and was bound to a wheelchair ever since was granted coverage and reimbursement by his insurance for a ReWalk Robotics exoskeleton.
An independent medical review organisation demonstrated the undisputable benefits and medical necessity of the exoskeleton for the surgeon to his health plan provider.  Larry Jasinski, ReWalk CEO, pointed out that this marked “an important moment for exoskeletons being accepted as protocol technology for those with spinal cord injury.”

Although it is to date only a single case, it gives us hope that we will be able to make the XoSoft exoskeleton accessible to more than just a small number of individuals in the future and considerably enhance the quality of life of many.
